This deck started with a simple premise: is it possible to annoy someone literally to death? It seems unlikely, but I’m willing to try! This deck yanks your chain, pokes you in the eye, picks fights with your friends, turns your stuff into frogs, and is probably trying to get your girlfriend’s number right now.

QDTG is the first entry in my series of “City of Brass” decks, set in the titular city on an unknown plane. Before the Guilds of Ravnica were a thing, I had the idea for a sprawling city ruled by ruthless guilds, each guild controlled by a powerful dragon, demon, vampire, or wizard …. I originally cast Nicol Bolas for the role of Guildmaster here but switched to Niv-Mizzet to better take advantage of the combat damage/card draw synergy.

My favorite combo: cast Curiosity on Niv-Mizzet the Firemind, then tap Niv-Mizzet to draw a card. Trigger Niv-Mizzet, dealing 1 damage to your opponent. Trigger Curiosity, drawing a card. Then trigger Niv-Mizzet again to restart the loop. The loop ends either when your opponent dies of irritation, you run out of cards to draw (better win fast!) or you deal 1 damage to a creature or yourself. Annoying!
